"Their Lighting Product just seemed to fit in perfectly with our long range goals for Energy Efficiency, Becoming Green, Energy Savings and Reducing Electrical Costs"

10 Reasons to Switch

1.       Start saving money today with no upfront costs using our lease option.

Our lease option allows customers to have new induction lights installed without any upfront costs.  Instead, a reasonable monthly payment is made over 5 years.  In most cases, the monthly payment is less than the money saved from switching to Induction thus making you money in the process.

2.       Reduce Electrical Consumption and associated electrical costs.

3.       Reduce Maintenance Costs

Using this chart, one can see that Induction lamps have 10x the life span of many metal halide lamps.  This reduces maintenance costs by

-          Reducing the number of lamps purchased for replacement
-          Reducing the number of man-hours needed to replace old lamps
-          Reducing the number of lamps recycled, thus reducing the associated recycling costs

4.       Improve Lighting Quality

Color Rendering Index (CRI) is a measurement that determines how accurately light reflects the actual colors of the object it is illuminating.  On a scale from 1 - 100, with 100 being the highest, Induction lights score 80 - 85.  MH scores 65 while HPS scores 21.

5.       Improve Safety

a.       Lower failure rates means more light more of the time

Another benefit of having a 10x longer lifespan is that the area that is being lit has a higher probably of being lit.  Another way of stating that is there is a much lower probably that an area will go unlit due to a blown bulb before maintenance replaces it.  This lower probably of unlit areas means fewer darker areas, translating to a constantly lit and safe area.

b.      CRI/CCT means truer colors

With a high CRI, Induction lighting accurately portrays what is being lit.  This is a problem with HPS and MH.  For example, since HPS gives off a yellow tint, a blue car could appear green to both human eyes and to video cameras.  There, if something criminal should occur in the lit area, the video camera will not accurately portray the colors and descriptions that would be necessary to obtain correct information.

6.       Reduce Carbon Footprint

In 2008, 1.33 pounds of CO2 were produced for every 1 kWh consumed.

7.       Reduce Heat Island Effect In Cities

a.       Heat from power plants producing electricity
b.      Heat from lamps themselves
c.       Frees up energy for HVAC so blackouts will not occur

9.       Reduce Liability

As we have already stated, more light and better light color from Induction lamps increases the safety of your area, but as a business it does more.  Increased lighting reduces risk of injury and crime, therefore helping to prevent lawsuits.  While it is not entirely pleasant to think about, owners must take into account their bottom line.

10.   It is Time to Go Green!

a.       Compared to some more intricate and complicated energy efficient upgrades, lighting is considered the lowest hanging fruit of possible changes.  Upgrading to Induction lighting reaps some of the biggest benefits while only making some of the smallest investments.

b.      By using old technology, not only are you wasting money in energy bills but also passing up free money for those who upgrade.  There are numerous federal, state, and local incentives and grants available for energy efficient lighting, and ECO Lighting Solutions will assist in securing those funds for your company.
