Lighting fixtures made in the USA

"The main advantage is that you do away with light bulb changes. We change 20-30 bulbs in every garage every month and that gets very expensive"
According to a recent study done by the US Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, lighting accounted for 17.7% of all electricity consumption among all building types, ranking just behind space heating.(1) When isolated to commercial buildings, that number jumps to 38%.(2)
Over the years there have been several advances in lighting technology to combat this drain. For commercial and industrial lighting, today's standards are an amalgam of High Intensity Discharge (HID) lamps that have very high lumen output but include a distinct set of drawbacks including:
High mercury content
- Low energy efficiency
- Short lifespan
- High rate of light depreciation
- Susceptibility to vibration/climate
- Poor quality of light
A better solution exists by using Induction and LED. These technologies address all of the previously mentioned shortcomings of HID lamps without sacrificing performance.
